This model features the large resonant body of the popular "western", i.e. Dreadnought type guitars, made from solid pressure tested spruce and mahogany. Adjoining the mahogany neck is a richlite composite fingerboard with twenty-one frets. Orientation is traditionally facilitated by position dots and a distinctive mother-of-pearl motif on the twelfth fret.
The sound is captured using a Tru-Mic system with an Element sub-coil pickup, microphone and L.R. Baggs Anthem preamp located in the guitar's soundhole. Stability of tuning is guaranteed by closed gold-plated mechanics with white pegs and a gear ratio of 18:1 (Bass side) and 26:1 (Treble side). The stylish design of the instrument is accentuated by the double-sided white inlaid herringbone trim, ornate rosette and logo and mother-of-pearl motif on the headstock. The instrument comes in a high quality Tric Case.
The history of the Canadian company Seagul dates back to 1982, and its philosophy is clear - to produce instruments using concepts familiar from custom guitar making so that even hard-working musicians can afford them. As a result, Seagul instruments are characterised by the use of solid woods and elaborate finishes, for example, so that they impress in both sound and appearance.
