A new addition to Joyo's R Series pedal lineup is the O.M.B, or One Man Band, and as the name suggests, with this box you can easily turn your solo performances into a one-man band. It combines the functions of a looper and an automatic drummer, and can handle many different genres of music with ease.
The controls are clear and simple, the first of the potentiometers adjusts the looper volume, while the other three are dedicated to the drum section. In addition to the usual drum volume, you can choose from seven genres (Metal, Blues, Rock, Pop, Latin, Jazz and Funk), with each genre offering seven separate beats. The speed of the drum loops can be set using the Tap Tempo button to your exact preference, so the amount of variation is virtually unlimited. You won't be limited by the maximum recording time either - 40 minutes is plenty of time for even the most elaborate compositions, and the loops can of course be infinitely layered.
An interesting bonus is the ambient lighting with three modes - it can be on all the time or flicker to the beat of the drums, but of course it can also be switched off completely. The Joyo O.M.B. offers many more features, and at a price that hardly finds competition.
