The G5220 BT belongs to the Electromatic series mentioned above. Its shape is based on the popular LP concept. The body of the guitar is made of chambered mahogany and the top is made of laminated maple, which is surrounded by a black and white trim with white inlay. A black walnut fingerboard with twenty-two Medium Jumbo frets is glued to the mahogany neck with a Thin U profile. Orientation on its surface is facilitated by position blocks made of imitation mother-of-pearl.
Two Black Top BroadTron humbuckers provide the necessary sonic versatility, i.e. crystal clear tone and aggressive overdrive, depending on the player's needs. A three-position pickup switch is used to switch between them. Two pickup volume potentiometers, a tone shutter and an overall instrument volume control with Treble Bleed circuit (allowing you to pull down the Master Volume without accentuating the bass frequencies) provide comprehensive control over the character of the sound. The instrument's stylish design is suitably complemented by chrome hardware and a Silver Plexi pickguard with black Gretsch corporate logo.
