ESP KH-2 is a signature model created according to the requirements of Kirk Hammett, the solo guitarist of the world famous Metallica. At first glance, it catches the eye with its glittering design in Purple Sparkle. The body of the guitar is made of alder. The three-piece maple neck with a narrow Extra Thin U profile is fitted with a rosewood fingerboard with twenty-four Extra Jumbo frets (with selected frets from 17-24 for better string pulling). Orientation around its surface is facilitated by mother-of-pearl markers with a pirate skull-and-crossbones motif.
Two active EMG signature humbuckers give the guitar the distinctive Kirk Hammett sound featured in Metallica. Other quality components used include the original Floyd Rose double-turn tremolo or Gotoh tuning machines. Stability of tuning when using the tremolo lever is guaranteed by the locks on the zero fret, which, like all hardware, are in a stylish black finish.
The guitar comes in a case with a certificate of authenticity.
ESP has been manufacturing electric guitars since 1984 and its satisfied customers include Kirk Hammett, James Hetfield, Ronnie Wood and Max Cavalera.
