ESP Sunburst Tiger is one of the first ESP signature models. With this instrument, guitarist George Lynch, in the ranks of the then extremely popular glam band Dokken, charmed crowds of enthusiastic fans as early as the mid-1980s.
At first glance, the guitar already catches the eye with its absolutely period-defining tiger design. Its body is made of maple. The maple bolt-on neck with GL Original U profile is joined by a rosewood fingerboard fitted with twenty-two Extra Jumbo frets. Orientation on its surface is facilitated by pearl position markers.
The specific sound of guitar wizard G. Lynch is defined by two hand-wound Arcane pickups - a single-coil Desert Eagle in the neck position and a Mr. Scary humbucker designed by the master himself. For sonic adjustments, a push/pull volume potentiometer is used to split the humbucker coils and achieve a clean single-coil sound. Other high quality components used include the original Floyd Rose double reverse tremolo or Gotoh tuning machines. Tuning stability when using the tremolo lever is guaranteed by the locks on the zero fret, which, like all hardware, are in a stylish black finish.
The guitar comes in a case with a certificate of authenticity.
ESP has been manufacturing electric guitars since 1984 and its satisfied customers include Kirk Hammett, James Hetfield, Ronnie Wood and Max Cavalera.
