The Origin 20C is a single-channel combo with a maximum output of 20 watts, which can be attenuated with the front-panel Output switch. Powerstem technology guarantees the same high quality sound even at lower power levels. The proven combination of preamp/poweramp tubes with a 10-inch Celestion V-type driver gives the combo a typical British sound. A three-band EQ with an added Tilt control for more detailed high frequency adjustments is used to modify it. Thanks to the Pull Boost function, i.e. push/pull of the Gain control, you can increase both the volume and gain of the machine and take the sound all the way back to the waters of 80s hard/rock.
The lack of built-in effects and higher gain is compensated by the ability to connect external pedal effects via the effects loop input/output, which all Marshall Origin machines are more than comfortable with. On the rear panel you'll also find a footswitch input, three outputs to external speakers with 8 and 16 Ohm impedances, and a DI output with speaker emulation for direct connection of the combo to a mixer. A two-pin footswitch is included (controlling the Gain Boost and effects loop functions).
