The Goodtime 17-Fret four-string tenor banjo model is one of the so-called open-back instruments, i.e. a banjo without a resonator with an open back plate. With a weight of under two kilograms and a shorter scale, it is a great instrument for children and a practical companion for travel, holidays, etc. Its maple fingerboard is fitted with seventeen pakfong frets, and orientation around its surface is facilitated by design position markers. An eleven-inch bellows is attached to the maple body by a steel rim. The strings are mounted in high-quality closed mechanisms on one side, and in a nickel-plated steel stringing box on the other, via a maple/ebony fingerboard.
All Deering instruments (from professional models to the entry-level Goodtime line) are made in Spring Valley, California, USA by skilled craftsmen. Here, each piece is given the same care and attention to meet strict quality standards.
