This particular type has 500 watts of power. It offers two instrument inputs for active and passive instruments. The Ashdown VU meter displays the optimal input volume setting. Five parametric equalizers, a Shape button and an integrated compressor are used for further sound adjustments. The Drive control adds the juice of the melted electrons to the tone, while the Sub potentiometer adds the necessary fullness; both of these functions can be controlled with the FS 2 footswitch (not included).
Other benefits of this amp include a send/return effects loop that allows you to connect pedal effects, two XLR/jack combo outputs for connecting external speakers, and a DI output that sends the signal from the amp directly to a mixing desk or recording console. Through the line output, you can play any Mp3/Audio tracks and jam freely to them.
Behind the British brand Ashdown proudly stands Mark Gooday; a man with over thirty years of experience building basses. With his tenure, the prestige of the Trace Elliot brand was rising in the 1980s, which he left after disagreements and started his own Ashdown brand in 1997. His vision was, and always will be, a bass sound that can be characterised by the words big, thick, deep, round or warm. Massive boxes and full tube amplifiers, to which he has a lifelong relationship, fully fulfil this. However, Ashdown's range also includes transistor and hybrid bass amplifiers, or modern B-Socials responding to current trends.
