Although this instrument is brand new, the Hardcore Aged finish produces a faux patina with scuffed lacquer and tarnished nickel hardware, consistent with roughly twenty years on the concert stage. Based on the California II TM model, this five-string bass features a preamp with two-band corrections (can be switched to passive) and a two-position switch that disconnects the humbucker coils at the tailpiece.

A maple neck (Canadian Hardrock) fitted with a rosewood fingerboard with twenty-two frets and position markers in the form of mother-of-pearl blocks is attached to the alder body via six screws. Faux patina on orange lacquer, tortoiseshell pickguard and tarnished hardware lend this instrument a pleasing retro feel that is sure to inspire.
