DocDerr is an effects processor for 500 series racks and it is actually a compact channel strip. It combines a preamp, a three-band EQ and a parallel compressor.
The very low noise preamp works with both line and instrument signals and boosts the signal by up to 16 dB. A three-band correction section follows, with each band having seven selectable frequencies easily controlled by a switch. This makes setup very quick and intuitive.
The compressor features Tape emulation and operates in parallel. Thanks to the Mix control, it is thus possible to mix a compressed signal with a clean one, a well-known technique popular among sound engineers worldwide.
