The XONE:K2 is a USB MIDI controller and four channel sound card. Fully configurable MIDI interface with tri-color LEDs and USB (or X-Link) power supply. The K2 also includes an Allen&Heath X-Link interface for interfacing with XONE products.
The K2 is designed to work with any DAW/DJ application that supports MIDI (such as Ableton, Traktor Pro, Serato Scratch, etc.). The K2 offers 52 physical controls, 12 rotary potentiometers, 6 rotary encoders with push button, 4 linear pull potentiometers and 30 backlit buttons. Up to 171 MIDI commands are therefore available in three layers.
The K2's open architecture allows for complete user customization. The K2 also includes a four-channel sound card that can operate at 44.1 and 48kHz sample rate resolution. 2 stereo channels are routed from the PC/Mac to the K2, with one channel going to the headphone output and the other to the main L+R output. This allows headphone listening without interrupting the main output.
The main output is fitted with RCA connectors and the headphone output is implemented via a 3.5mm stereo jack. Thanks to the X-Link protocol, two K2 units can be connected and double the number of K2 controls. X-Link uses a standard RJ45 connector and transfers both data and power, meaning that the connection to the DAW is made with just one USB cable. The construction of the K2 is made of robust plastic and a steel front panel. The potentiometers are attached to the front panel with metal nuts.
Included in the package is a special carrying case that can also serve as a stand/pad for the K2.
