The RG series guitars are perhaps the most famous of all Ibanez guitars - time-tested metal machines that guitarists seek out primarily for their excellent sound and construction ideal for fast playing.
The body of this guitar is made from meranti wood and has a three-piece maple neck bolted to it. It features a jatoba (Brazilian cherry) fingerboard with twenty-four jumbo-sized frets. The positions on the fingerboard are marked with dots. The gauge of the instrument is 648 mm, the zero fret measures 48 mm.
The sound of the instrument is captured through two Quantum passive humbuckers with ceramic magnets, which can be switched between using a five-position switch. A volume control and tone shield are used to further shape the tone, so you get a wide range of tones from the guitar.
The strings run through the body of the guitar via a fixed bridge with adjustable string height, and the hardware is black.
The Ibanez RG7421 is a guitar that is perfect for harder styles of music, the ideal price/quality ratio will be appreciated by both beginners and more advanced players.
