Kemper's Profiler series amplifiers are changing the game in the instrument simulation field. Forget modeling, here comes profiling! In a nutshell - take any tube or transistor combo and use a microphone and interconnect cable to save its specific sound, including all the nuances, into the Kemper Profiler. This way you'll always have it at your fingertips, whether you're in the studio or at a gig. And if you don't have a collection of quality instruments you'd like to profile yourself, don't despair - hundreds of profiles of the best instruments are already stored in the Profiler!
Wondering how it works? Profiling is a state-of-the-art technology that allows you to extract the exact sound and feel of any combo (guitar, bass, tube, transistor) and save its "sound profile" for further use directly in Kemper Profiler. In addition, profiling doesn't just capture the sound of the amp, but also works with the cabinet sound or microphone position. It all takes just a few minutes and you can then recall your signature sound whenever and wherever you need it without any problems!
You plug one cable into the input of the combo whose sound you want to profile and connect it to the Kemper Profiler. You then plug the microphone into the Kemper Profiler and place it in front of the profiled combo. You press a few buttons, play a few chords, the Kemper runs a series of sound tests to get all the information it can, then does an A/B comparison and you're done. The sound profile of the instrument, indistinguishable from the original, is in your Kemper Profiler and you can now work with it.
If you don't own high-end instruments yourself or don't want to bother with profiling, that's fine. In Kemper Profiler, you'll find hundreds of profiles of guitars and basses from the best brands, including rare models that have been profiled in professional studios around the world. These include Marshall, Vox, Fender, Mesa Boogie, Peavey, Randall, Orange, Ampeg, Silvertone and many more. You can also expand your sound by using the online library, where profiles of instruments from around the world are constantly being added.
Once you have a sound in Profiler, you can adjust its properties using the classic Gain, Bass, Middle, Treble, Presence and Volume controls, and the Gain control has no effect on the tone colour, so you can adjust everything much faster at any volume. This makes the Kemper Profiler suitable for home practice (headphone output is a given) or in the studio. There is also an extensive effects section with a wide range of settings, which you can use to modulate the signal further, and there is also a built-in effects loop.
The 19" Rack version of the Profiler offers the same features as the Head, only missing the LED backlighting on the potentiometers at the bottom (except for Gains) and the two controls from the Mod section. As a result, the Rack retains the height of the three units. This version also has a built-in 600W Class D amplifier, so you can connect the Head to the speakers just like your analogue favourite and feel the power of the machine at a gig or in the rehearsal room.
Kemper Profiler combines the use of unique profiling technology with all the features you're used to from the world of professional sound modelling and digital effects. Store your own sound in it and always have it at your disposal, without any compromise. Or choose from hundreds of great machines from around the world. Whether you're playing live, in the studio, at home or wherever you need the perfect tone, you can rely on Kemper Profiler 100%. It is one of the most modern and versatile instruments ever!
