Marine Band diatonic harmonicas are the flagship of the Hohner brand. The first model was introduced to the American market in 1896 and there are few country, blues or rock n roll legends who didn't use one in their time (Little Walter, Paul Butterfield, Bob Dylan...). The line with this name represents the quality, German-made harmonicas that to this day are the clear first choice of many professional musicians - whether they are classic models (1896) or more modern ones (Crossover).
The sound of the Marine Band harmonica has been firmly associated with the sound of the blues from its American origins to the present day. It can express with intensity the intimate human feelings inherent in this style of music and life. The Marine Band Deluxe Harmonica carries this ability while opening the door to the 21st century to meet the needs of today's musicians. Design changes guarantee even greater volume and faster harmonica response. Its body is made of triple-lacquered pear wood, meaning it is protected against moisture absorption and expansion. The harmonica also features reinforced stainless steel covers with side holes and an open back, rounded edges for greater playing comfort, twenty brass keys, 0.9 mm thick brass slices and a range of three octaves. Also included is a neoprene zippered case that protects the harmonica from dust and allows moisture to escape.
All Marine Band Deluxe models use Richter tuning.
