LES PAUL SPECIAL II

The Epiphone Special II series is one of the most affordable licensed copies of guitars based on the Gibson Les Paul design. While this is a model designed primarily for beginners or advanced players who don't want to invest unnecessarily large amounts of money in their gear, there's no need to worry about it being a sell-out. Even for very decent money, you can get an instrument that will be very well made, made of quality materials and its sound will be up to par with the typical character of Les Paul guitars. The Special II is proof of that.

Body and neck

The Special II has a body made from okoume wood, the neck is bolted to the body and is made from maple. This is a proven construction and combination of woods that guarantees a typical "Les Paul" sound and gives the instrument a very decent sustain. The rosewood fingerboard is fitted with 22 frets, the positions are marked with classic dots. The gauge is measured at 628 mm, the width of the zero fret corresponds to 43 mm. In this case, the instrument is finished in Wine Red.

Pickups and electronics

The instrument is equipped with two humbucker pickups, in this case the models are 700T (position at the headstock) and 650R (position at the neck), both containing AlNiCo V magnets. You can switch between them with a 3-position switch, the wiring then goes neck HB / both HB / bridge HB. The sound can be influenced by the volume and tone diaphragm potentiometers. With this combination you get a variety of good sounds.

Hardware

All the hardware used is in chrome. The tuning machines are Die-Cast type and guarantee very good tuning stability. The strings go through a classic Tune-O-Matic type bridge and are anchored in the stopbar. This allows for precise adjustment of intonation and other parameters, as well as excellent transmission of string vibrations to the body and therefore high sustain.

The Epiphone Les Paul Special II is a fairly minimalist instrument, but it offers a very good value for money. If you're looking for a guitar that won't drain your wallet and still be high quality, this is the right choice.

EPIPHONE ELECTAR 10

The Electar transistor combo offers you 10 watts of power and a 6-inch speaker, a configuration more than sufficient for home playing and practicing. It's a two-channel combo equipped with a 2-band EQ, so you can work with a wide variety of sounds. Of course, there is a headphone output for quiet playing.
