GRETSCH G5442BDC ELECTROMATIC HOLLOW BODY

Nashville-type electric basses, whether they are models from the basic Electromatic series, the higher Professional series, or the top U.S. Custom Collection series, are united by the use of a single- or double-cutaway body. These are instruments with a typical Gretsch sound that can be used in a wide range of musical styles without any problems. As is customary with Grestch, the use of premium materials, precision craftsmanship and top sound are commonplace here.

Body and neck

Specifically, the Electromatic model has a body made of laminated maple front and sides and a back made of the same material. The entire body is 57 millimeters deep. The neck, which is glued to the body, is made of maple. A rosewood fingerboard is used. On the 768 millimetre scale you will find 22 frets. The width of the synthetic bone zero fret is 40.6 millimetres.

Pickups and electronics

On the instrument, you will find two humbucker-type pickups, which are made in-house at Gretsch and bear the Black Top Filter'Tron designation. You can switch between them with a 3-position switch, and the sound is controlled by volume potentiometers, which are separate for each pickup and then as master volume, and tone shutters.

Hardware

The strings are anchored in the stringboard, where they are routed through an adjustable Adjusto-Matic-type fixed bridge with a rosewood base. On the other side, they lead to reliable Gotoh Die-Cast tuning machines. The hardware is chrome plated.
