Smart control
The pride of the Traktor Kontrol X1 is in the details. The Browse and Loop rotary controls respond to touch and access different views or functions in the Traktor app - to see the full list in the browser, simply touch the Browse control. Touching the Loop control while holding down the Shift+Play buttons will show key locations in your track. Touching the Loop control while pressing Sync will display the tempo.
The touch strip also interprets different functions, depending on the state of the deck - if it is stopped, the touch strip can be used to search. If the deck is playing, the touch strip is automatically assigned a pitch bend. Any effect parameter can also be assigned to the touch strip within a second.

1. Effects section
It consists of 8 rotary high-sensitivity controllers and 8 buttons. This section allows simultaneous control of all parameters of the two effect units of the Traktor software. In Grouped FX mode, 3 effects of each deck can be controlled simultaneously. The effect section buttons are programmed to offer access to 3 of your most popular effect presets, allowing you to select between different FX on the fly.
2. Browser section
The touch-sensitive controller is designed for browsing within lists and for loading tracks. Pressing it will automatically change the display on your screen. Turn the dial to find a track and press it to load it immediately into the appropriate deck. Once the track is loaded, you can use the loop controls or the touchpad to move around inside the track. The tempo will remain synchronous at all times.
3. Loops section
The LED display always provides clear visual feedback on loop status. Meanwhile, the rotary controls offer intuitive control of many of the loop functions of the Traktor software. This gives you quick access to Auto Loops, Manual Loops and loop editing functions such as loop length or loop position.
4. Touch Strip
The new multi-purpose Touch Strip offers extremely precise control of track position, pitch bend, FX and loops with a swipe of your fingers. Control one deck or two decks simultaneously and have instant access to functions such as track search, panning or skipping. Visual information helps you keep track of a track, its position, or loop/FX values.
5. Motion section
This section offers direct access to the basic controls as well as the 4 secondary functions on each deck. All of the buttons that are required standard on the device (Play, Cue, Sync) are here, as well as access to the 4 HotCues/HotLoops on each deck, which are expandable by 8 HotCues/HotLoops per deck. The new Flux Mode button allows for flawless mixing on the fly.
