Dunlop MXR Talk Box is a unique effect that can "talk" your guitar. Its sound is familiar from many songs from funk and rock history. Already the contents of the package with the talk box, tube and mic stand clip suggest that the talk box will work a little differently than standard pedals. This is because the signal when the pedal is activated does not go out through the output to the machine (which is muted when activated), but through a tube out to your mouth. For this reason, you need to be close to the microphone that picks up the signal and sends it to the PA.
The Talk Box has its own amplifier and driver, so you can play even without the machine connected. The character of the sound can also be varied by placing additional pedal effects in front of the talk box. The box operates in true bypass mode, so it doesn't affect the pass-through signal when switched off. Power can be supplied via the included 18V adapter, battery power is not available.
