Meinl Nile Series djembes are drums made using truly traditional methods. The biggest difference from conventional Djembes is the tuning method, which does not use metal hardware consisting of hoops, shells and tuning screws, but a sophisticated system of ropes. The quality of these drums is a given, not for nothing are they one of the most popular on the market.
Made from a single piece of select mahogany wood, the soundboard is made from carefully selected goatskin - an absolutely ideal material for achieving a balanced sound. Its diameter is 8 inches and height is 15.75 inches, the shape is quite traditional, so you can expect a traditional sound as well. The tuning is done by a system of sixteen 4 millimeter thick strings, which are completely pull-proof and therefore allow for precise tuning and sustain.
