All speakers are constructed from high quality multi-ply poplar plywood, glued and screwed together at the same time, and arranged internally so that you can hear everything you want to hear from your instrument. All the materials and components used are chosen to be as high quality and lightweight as possible, and it goes without saying that everything is subordinated to achieving the optimum sound
Markbass was one of the first companies to incorporate neodymium magnet speakers into their boxes in large numbers. Their advantages, apart from good sound reproduction, are that they are extremely strong and therefore a magnet can be used that is considerably lighter than that used in conventional speakers. This brings us to the biggest advantage of Markbass boxes - despite their high power output and great sound projection, they are among the lightest speakers on the market - an undeniable advantage. All boxes also include a bass reflex for the best possible sound, which is placed either on the front or back of the cabinet.
STANDARD 108HR
The Standard series loudspeakers form the core of Markbass production and sonically offer a truly standard sound, with, of course, superior workmanship and quality materials - and, as is classic with Markbass, a small compact size and reasonable weight. In particular, the Standard 108HF is one of the most interesting boxes in the Markbass range and de facto sets new standards as far as 8x 10 boxes are concerned - its sound and power speak for themselves. This box will simply rock your pants off.
Despite its smaller size, it has a power output of 1600W, which is more than enough, it achieves this power at an impedance of 4 Ohms. Eight10-inch neodymium magnet speakers developed by B&C take care of converting power into sound, and for optimal projection you'll also find a 1-inch piezo tweeter with a top and a bass reflex located on the back of the cabinet.
If you dig deeper into the technical parameters of the apparatus, you will learn that the crossover frequency between the speaker and tweeter is 3.5 kHz, the speaker can operate in the frequency range from 40 to 20,000 Hz and the sensitivity of the speakers is 105 dB SPL. The weight is 40.4 kilograms, the dimensions of the cabinet are 59.4 x 116.4 x 48 centimeters.
In terms of construction you will find everything here - the cabinet made of poplar plywood has protected corners, the speakers are covered by a metal grille, the surface of the box is carpeted.
The Markbass Standard 108HR is therefore the ideal companion for musicians demanding great sound without compromise. This beast will really guarantee that you will be heard...
