The TRB series was born in the 1980s as one of Yamaha's first six-string electric basses. Today, of course, the line also offers four- and five-string models. The body of this instrument is made of alder with a top of flamed maple. This allows for a really long sustain and balanced tone. The neck is made of five pieces of maple and mahogany. The fingerboard is made of rosewood and at 889 millimetres we find 24 frets.
The bass is equipped with two humbuckers with Alnico V magnets. Master Volume, Balancer and three-band equalizer can be used to adjust the sound. The electronics are active.
The strings are anchored in a solid brass headstock whose stones are specially angled to extend sustain and minimize string snapping.
