AKG C5

Together with the two dynamic models D5 and D5S, AKG has also introduced a condenser version of this microphone, which is called C5. The design of the microphone insert has many unique features. It is housed in a 24-carat gold-plated housing that provides better protection against corrosion and moisture. This casing is housed in a special elastic material that very significantly eliminates noise and noise when handling the microphone.

The precise and frequency-independent directional characteristic is cardioid, optimized not only for high resistance to feedback, but also for use of the microphone with in-ear monitoring. The microphone head is made of highly durable steel and perfectly protects the microphone insert. The head includes an integrated windscreen and popscreen.

The C5 microphone is supplied with a microphone holder, a zippered case and the PB 1000 (Presence Boost Adapter), which is a plastic cap with holes that, when fitted to the microphone insert, provides 2 to 4 dB better frequency response between 5 and 13 kHz and thus better intelligibility and a clearer and brighter sound.
