When you say distortion, many people think of the orange Boss DS-1 box, the legendary pedal that changed guitar history. The Boss DS-2 is an expanded version of this best-selling distortion pedal ever. Compared to the classic version, it offers two Turbo modes that give you both a raw blues/rock crunch and a full distorted tone with a sea of gain for vocal guitar solos. You can also attach a footswitch to the pedal and conveniently switch between the two modes.

Otherwise, it's business as usual. Powerful gain, long sustain, rich harmonies and thick, punchy bass. A simple control panel with three potentiometers for Level, Tone and Distortion lets you influence the character of the sound and move across the spectrum from subtle distortion to truly aggressive distortion. The box respects the sound of the guitar and pickups at all times, preserving their sonic articulation and distinctive tone. Whether you're playing thick rock and metal riffs or vocal solos or ultra-fast guitar shred, this pedal makes every note stand out. With the distortion turned down to a minimum, the DS-2 can also be used as a booster/overdrive.

The box operates in Buffered Bypass mode, as do all pedals in current Boss production. A 9V battery or 9V adapter is used for power.
