The front of the guitar is made of solid Sitka spruce, while the back and sides are made of laminated walnut. Glued to the mahogany neck is an ebony fingerboard fitted with nineteen frets and positional imitation mother-of-pearl dots. The strings are mounted in chrome-plated Taylor Die-Cast mechanisms over the NuBone zero fret. The visual impact is emphasized by traditional elements in the form of a simple rosette and the company logo on the headstock.
The guitar's sound is provided by the ES-B (Expression System Baby) preamp installed in the back of the instrument, which is based on the ES-2 system developed by Taylor, a unique way of sensing sound using three piezo pickups placed behind the neck. In addition, the preamplifier offers two controls (Tone, Volume), a built-in chromatic tuner and a clear LED display.
The instrument comes in a gig bag.
The Taylor Baby series is one of three series that this world-renowned manufacturer of luxury guitars produces in its Tecate, Mexico factory. However, this does not detract from the precision of the workmanship, the quality of the materials used or the perfection of the tone. These smaller-bodied guitars have a surprisingly big sound, making them an ideal choice for travelling musicians or children.
