The Taylor 222ce-K DLX is an electro-acoustic guitar with a more compact Grand Concert body that will please guitarists who prefer to play with finger technique or who like to put the pick away from time to time.
The body of the guitar is made of Hawaiian koa - solid wood front, laminated koa back and sides. The impressive pattern of the koa is enhanced by the gloss lacquer and Shaded Edgeburst finish. Glued to the mahogany neck is an ebony fingerboard fitted with twenty frets. A subtle rounded lower body cutaway (Venetian Cutaway) facilitates touch-up on the higher reaches of the fingerboard.
Tuning stability is guaranteed by the NuBone zero-fret string attachment in the ebony headstock and Taylor die-cast mechanism. The beautiful workmanship is accentuated by decorative position markers made of imitation mother-of-pearl, black body binding complemented by a black and white pickguard, gold hardware and a black pickguard.
Sound pickup is handled by the Taylor Expression System 2. This is a completely unique pickup method that takes the possibilities of realistic sound reproduction to unprecedented dimensions. Three specially designed independent piezoelectric pickups located behind the fingerboard are used for pickups. Unlike conventional pickups, they do not sense the up and down movement of the board, but the natural back and forth vibration of the grasshopper seat. This makes the sound much more natural, colourful, pleasing and responsive to the dynamics of the playing. The new preamp also makes the signal 25% stronger. Of course, feedback is eliminated and the volume, bass and treble can be adjusted.
