Derived from the flagship TD-50, the TD-27 sound module is packed with percussion that comes to life just like acoustic instruments. It starts with samples from the finest drums, percussion and cymbals - classic and modern - recorded in world-class studios. Roland's unique Prismatic Sound Modelling technology is then applied to these, bringing them to life with behavioural modelling honed over more than two decades. When you strike a drum or cymbal in the module, you don't just trigger a stored sound - you play a fully-fledged instrument that responds in every aspect just like its acoustic counterpart, leaving you with an unrivalled range of sounds at your fingertips.

Digital triggering technology

Roland's cutting-edge technology applied to the pads adds even more realism to your V-Drums experience. The TD-27 features three digital trigger inputs that, when combined with advanced Roland digital pads like the PD-140DS snare drum and CY-18DR ride cymbal, give your drumming experience the most natural expression. Multiple pickups and lightning-fast processing result in a truly amazing response, allowing you to use real techniques in the most natural way when playing, with every nuance captured and translated with absolute precision. And if you're not ready for digital pads yet, the TD-27 module also has analog trigger inputs for standard snare and ride pads.

Create and customize your own unique rig

With acoustic drums, you create your own sound by changing the type of blanks, adjusting the tuning, dampening, adjusting the string tension, changing the kick drum hammer, and so on. With the TD-27 module and its manual controls and detailed editing options, all of this is possible and you can create special kits for any situation. You can even load your own WAV samples via SD storage and use them on their own or layer them on top of internal sounds.

PureAcoustic Ambience technology

The new PureAcoustic Ambience technology optimizes each kit to create an incredibly natural and immersive soundfield when you play. You can go even further and adjust the microphone position on each rig to fine-tune the overall sound with newly developed overhead microphone simulation. And the advanced built-in multieffects and mixing options represent the power of an entire studio console as you control transients, parametric EQs, compressors, Reverb, Delay and much more.

Connect to performances and the studio

The TD-27 is a great foundation for any electronic drum kit, with plenty of connection options for both performance and studio recording. There are stereo outputs for overall sound, as well as two direct outputs for routing kick, snare or other sounds to the console for separate mixing. The built-in USB audio interface makes computer music production a breeze, offering up to 28 channels of audio through a single cable. The MIDI standard is also supported via USB and a dedicated interface, so you can connect to other MIDI devices and trigger sounds in computer programs.

Versatile trigger support

In addition to the three digital trigger inputs, the TD-27 module features an analog trigger connector for quick and easy connection to any standard V-Drums pad assembly, using the included cable. There's also a dedicated analog trigger input for a second crash cymbal pad, as well as three additional trigger inputs to expand your rig with, for example, Roland kick, tom and cymbal pads or trigger pads like the BT-1.

Bluetooth connectivity and built-in teaching tools

With the TD-27's practice functions, you'll always look forward to your next practice session. With built-in Bluetooth connectivity, the module can wirelessly stream audio from your phone or laptop, making it ideal for playing with headphones. You can play along with your favourite song or combine the kit with audio from a YouTube video collection. Built-in learning features develop your skills and track your progress, while an advanced metronome refines your sense of rhythm. Plus, you can record your performance at any time, listen to it and see what you still need to work on.
