The NUX NSS-5 Solid Studio is a speaker simulator, power amp simulator and IR loader that offers 8 guitar cabinet simulations from well-known brands, 8 virtual microphones with three different pickup positions and three end-effector simulations: the EL84, LE34 and 6V6. In addition to the ability to choose between guitar cabinet, microphone and tube simulations, it also allows you to shape the character of the selected sound using the Master, Drive and Presence controls.
A mono input with switch (-10dB / +4dB) optimizes Solid Studio for use with multiple instruments, not just guitars. Three outputs from the box - Stereo (TRS), XLR DI and bypass THRU for dry signal, allow a wide range of wiring. Simply send the sound from your pedalboard directly to a mixer, a recording device/interface, a stage monitor (ideally FRFR) or a standard loudspeaker (in which case always set the switches to +4dB and the SPK/speaker position).
Solid Studio goes even further and allows you to create cabinet profiles/IRs directly, or connect the box via Micro USB to the freely available Solid Studio software and upload the IRs of your favourite speakers. A 9V adapter is used for power.
