IK Multimedia iRig Keys I/O offers a combination of MIDI controller and built-in sound card and excellent integration with iPhones and iPads. And why a sound card? Remember that the iPhone since version 7 lacks any audio output.
The controller comes in 25 and 49 (number of keys) versions and despite its very compact size, it has a standard keyboard. For further control, there are several touch sensors, rotary knobs and dynamically sensitive, backlit pads.
On the rear panel we find a pedal input, a combined TRS/XLR input for microphone or line input (including phantom power), a volume control, a headphone output and a Mini DIN data jack.
Power is supplied via USB directly from your computer, but you can also plug in an adapter (not included) or charge with pencil batteries. When charging with the adapter, you can charge your mobile devices at the same time.
You also get a stand for your mobile and tablet or an impressive collection of software including loops, synths, sound banks or popular DAW programs.
