The front of the Rainbow S-AS/CW model is made of solid alpine spruce, while the back and sides are made of claro walnut with a characteristic wavy wood grain. The Full-Pore High-Gloss finish, a full-pore, high-gloss lacquer finish, improves the acoustic properties of the guitars, provides excellent surface protection and enhances the wood's natural texture. The Furch CNR System's two-way neck bracing adds strength, stability and durability. The excellent acoustic properties of the instrument are enhanced by the European spruce ribbing on the front and back.
The guitar's refined appearance is accentuated by the black walnut body, fingerboard and headstock binding with white contrasting lines, the pearl (Abalone) front panel binding with black and white lines, the black walnut centre back panel binding with white contrasting lines on both sides, the ornate solid black walnut and pearl (Abalone) rosette and ebony pegs with pearl dots. The transparent pickguard lets the natural grain of the wood stand out while not affecting the resonance of the soundboard. Orientation on the ebony fingerboard is facilitated by decorative mother-of-pearl inlays. Stable tuning is guaranteed by high-quality Schaller chrome-plated mechanisms.
The active electronics of the L. R. Baggs Anthem use a combination of microphone sound sensing (patented Tru.Mic technology) and a sub-cabinet pickup, which guarantees authentic reproduction of the acoustic sound of the instrument and low microphonicity, i.e. susceptibility to feedback. The controls are discreetly housed in the instrument's soundhole.
The guitar comes in a luxurious moulded case with Schaller strap locks in gold finish.
Few Czech products have the worldwide reputation of Furch guitars. The company started in 1981 in one of the many garages of socialist Czechoslovakia, still illegal at the time. Today, the company's acoustic guitars are played by Suzanne Vega, Glen Hansard, David Knopfler, Aneta Langerová, David Koller, Xavier Baumaxa and many others. Furch guitars are best advertised by their reputation.
