The EHX Eddy is a BBD vibrato/chorus effect with a pure analogue signal path from the American company Electro-Harmonix. It offers quite a wide range of effect modulation settings, where in addition to output volume (Vol) and EQ (Tone) you determine the shape of the LFO (Shape), the character of the modulation depending on your playing dynamics (Envelope filter), the modulation speed (Rate) and its intensity (Depth). You specify the desired mode (chorus or vibrato) by toggling the switch. By setting the second switch you can integrate an external expression pedal and use it to control the speed and intensity of the effect modulation (Rate, Depth - similar to the Envelope control).
The EHX Eddy box thus offers hundreds of different forms of vibrato/chorus effects, including the Small Clone chorus effect made famous by Come As You Are and a host of other equally famous sounds. The Momentary function on the pedal switch is a delight, where holding down the switch lets the played motif backed by the vibrato/chorus effect reverberate for the desired amount of time.
The pedal effect is wired as a buffered bypass. The power supply is provided by the included 9V adapter.
