ALLEN&HEATH XONE:96

XONE:96 is the new flagship in the sea of DJ mixers from the British company Allen & Heath. The superbly equipped mixing console offers four stereo channels with four-band EQ, harmonic distortion filters, a dual 32-bit soundcard, four stereo returns (two with three-band EQ), MIDI connectivity and a design that will survive a Berghain run.

The Mixpult has an analog heart and a digital brain, combining typically warm sound with extensive connectivity. Dual Xone VCF filters feature HPF, BPF and LPF modes, adjustable resonance and a Crunch control to add extra weight to your sound in the form of delicious harmonic saturation.

On the digital side, a pair of independent 96kHz/32-bit USB inputs stand out, with each input offering 6 stereo inputs and outputs. There's also DVS support for Traktor software, so the palette of options for integration into a software system is very rich.

The four main stereo inputs feature an EQ with four-band corrections, and the signal can be further processed using a pair of FX sends and four stereo returns, with two returns having their own three-band corrections and acting as another pair of inputs. There's also a master insert for finishing off the whole mix with your favourite processor.

For live playing, you'll appreciate the pair of headphone outputs with independent cue or the three-band-corrected headphone output.

Last but not least, we must mention MIDI input and output, X-Link for interfacing with Xone controllers, an impedance switch on SEND 1 (guitar effects welcome), precision 60mm faders, an Innofader Mini in the crossfader position and a solid construction.
