Alesis Strata Prime E-Drums

The Strata Prime electronic drum kit from Alesis is a kit without compromise. Every detail has been designed to give the player a great response and natural feel when playing. All bellows are mesh material with adjustable tension, the cymbals are free to rotate 360 degrees, respond like acoustic cymbals, and the hi-hat is laser-accurate and reacts naturally with any hi-hat stand or hi-hat playing technique. Together, they form the high-end foundation you would expect from an acoustic drum set. Under the hood, however, is a truly cutting-edge sound engine that offers an extensive and detailed library of beautifully recorded drum kits.

The audio experience is driven by the legendary BFD drum engine and controlled via a 10.1" touchscreen display that provides intuitive navigation, editing, drum kit mixing - and recording studio-level sound that was previously only available on powerful desktop computers. The touchscreen allows easy access to every parameter, so you can easily call up and edit each kit component, sounds, effects and utilities. There are also six rotary encoders for quick browsing and detailed control, as well as a master button encoder, playback controls, and dedicated volume controls for the master, headphone, and aux outputs.

At the heart is a powerful multi-core processor that loads huge multi-sample sets in seconds, allowing instant creative freedom to customize your sets, articulations, mics and effects. The brand new triggering engine is customizable, although Strata Prime is eminently playable straight out of the box, there are several tools to customize your kit to your specific preferences. Strata Prime has 40 playable zones, and each trigger zone throughout the set can be assigned multiple sounds: the Main Sound and up to three additional "Stacks" per zone. You can layer multiple sounds on top of each other or create mashups of completely different combinations of sounds - for example, add a wood block and cowbell to the edge of your snare.

The BFD sound engine is a huge library of drum kits recorded by top engineers in the world's best drum recording facilities. With over 40GB of content; 75 kits, over 440 drum kit pieces, over 1,000 sound articulations and over 215,000 individual samples, you can create custom mixes, apply effects to kit pieces, groups and even individual microphones. In addition to 75 factory kits, Strata Prime includes four sound libraries: "Alesis Prime Acoustic"; a huge collection of percussion sounds recorded at Powerstation Studios in New England, "BFD Dark Farm", a metal-oriented expansion pack from the BFD team, "Alesis Prime Electronic", the best of the Alesis Strike Multipad's one-off electronic percussion sounds, great for layering with acoustic percussion samples, and "BFD Percussion", a diverse collection of percussion sounds from BFD's classic percussion packs.
