Charvel's Pro-Mod San Dimas Style 1 HSS HT E Sassafras Satin Black electric guitar features an early 1980s Strat/Super Strat design named after its place of origin, San Dimas, California.
The body of the guitar, made of sassafras wood, similar in appearance and pattern to swamp ash, is decorated with a black satin lacquer. A rounded-edge ebony fingerboard with twenty-two jumbo frets is glued to a bolted maple neck. Its radius flattens towards the body - allowing both comfortable riffing at the zero fret and comfortable ultra-fast shred in higher positions.
A Seymour Duncan JB TB-4 humbucker and two single-coil Seymour Duncan Custom Flat Strat SSL-6 pickups give the guitar a full dynamic sound for fast phrasing metal riffs, properly scorching guitar solos and classic Stratocaster sound and feel. You can switch between pickups with a five-position switch, and you can adjust the character of the sound with the volume potentiometers and the no-load tone shield, which acts like a standard tone shield in positions 1-9 and is de-circuited at position 10 - so the guitar offers a completely natural, transparent sound.
The strings are mounted in the company's die-cast drives and through a solid bridge through the body of the guitar. The stylish finish is accentuated by black hardware.
