Fender 1963 Stratocaster CC RW is a guitar from the Fender Custom Shop. The Closet Classic finish, with subtle elements of faux patina in the form of subtle oxidation of metal parts, fine surface scratches on the body and headstock, slight fading of plastic parts, and an understated sheen, is meant to evoke an instrument that has rarely been taken out of its case over the decades or completely forgotten for long periods of time.
The two-piece alder body is adorned with a 3-Color Sunburst (Super Faded/Aged) finish. Glued to the maple neck with a period "60s style Oval C" profile is a AAA quality rosewood fingerboard fitted with twenty-one Narrow Tall/6105 frets and micarta position markers.
Three Strat Texas Special pickups with Alnico 5 magnets and rewound coils for higher output give the guitar a hot Southern blues feel with true Fender DNA. Adjust the character of the sound with the standard controls, and switch between pickups with a five-position switch. The strings are anchored via a bone fretboard in vintage-style tuning machines and a synchronized Strat tremolo.
The guitar comes in a case with a certificate of authenticity.
