Epiphone's Les Paul electric guitars have been a more affordable alternative to Gibson originals for decades. The Les Paul Special TV Yellow model revisits the single-cut design of the Les Paul Special guitars of the 1950s, including the yellow color scheme that accompanied most instruments of the time.
The body of the guitar is made of mahogany. The neck is also mahogany, with a period-authentic Vintage 50s profile, and is glued to a fig fingerboard with twenty-two Medium Jumbo frets. Position dots make it easy to navigate its surface.
Two P-90 pickups in a soap bar design give the guitar a wide range of tones - from crystal clear to full on singing rock crunch. Two volume potentiometers, two tone controls and a three-position pickup switch are used to adjust the sound. Stable tuning is ensured by the zero-fret string attachment (Graph Tech) in the solid bridge (Wrap Around Bridge) and the company's Vintage Deluxe tuning machines with ivory imitation pegs. The stylish design is accentuated by nickel hardware and a black pickguard.
