The Godin A6 Ultra is a very versatile and atypical instrument that offers unprecedented possibilities. It combines the advantages of electric and acoustic guitar, especially for the player who needs 2 different sounds on stage, guitar worlds in one instrument.
Godin has used a dual sound pickup system here. Firstly, it is an underdrive piezo pickup, which is complemented by a specially developed preamp with volume control and 3-band equalizer. The second way is a neck-mounted humbucker, designated as the Godin GHN1, which also has volume control and a 2-band EQ. Two outputs are also used, one for a pure electric signal and the other for an acoustic mix.
The body of this instrument is made of chambered silver-leaf maple with a solid cedar top, which makes the sound very natural, colourful, balanced and lively. The bolt-on neck is made of mahogany and features a rosewood fingerboard fitted with 22 frets. As far as technical information is concerned, the gauge is 648 millimeters, the fingerboard radius is 16 inches, and the width of the zero fret is 42.8 millimeters.
