In addition, this instrument was specially created for an instrument exhibition in Cremona, Italy, the very cradle of the world's violin making. These instruments were made in a complete series of two violins, a viola and a cello, representing the instruments of a string quartet. The series was therefore named Quartet and is the pinnacle of Strunal production. The instrument itself is signed inside by Jiří Hodina, who built the instrument.
The Bologna model is based on the Stradivari violin and uses specially selected, heavily figured maple for the back, sides and neck. The Parisian eyelet soundboard is made of ebony, as is the Dresden-type chinrest, fingerboard or stringboard, which is fitted with two precision tuners. The fingerboard is of French type, and Austrian Thomastik Dominant strings are used for a high quality and clear sound. The instrument is finished with a hand-applied alcohol varnish, made according to a traditional recipe.
Strunal Schönbach continues a three-century tradition of stringed instrument making in the region. It is a company that you will probably remember under the name Cremona Luby, under which it has been successful for decades at home and abroad with its products. The production of each instrument is handled by skilled craftsmen with decades of experience; all instruments receive the necessary care. The company's portfolio includes violins, violas, cellos, double basses and guitars.
