The FGC-TA is a dreadnought electroacoustic guitar. The guitar's front plate is made of solid spruce, the back plate and sides are made of plywood mahogany. The acoustic properties are elevated to a higher level by a new design of reduced X ribbing, which maximizes the vibration of the soundboard.
A rosewood fingerboard fitted with twenty frets is glued to the nato neck, which is attached to the body at the fourteenth fret as standard. A lower cutout in the body facilitates the fingerboard's higher positions. The strings are held in place over the saddle and the Urea plastic zero fret in the company's Die-Cast tuning machines and rosewood fingerboard.
An active member (Actuator) installed on the inside of the instrument's back plate reacts to the vibrations of the strings and transmits the vibrations further into the body - in this way creating authentic reverb and chorus effect sounds directly in the body of the guitar. The chorus and reverb controls are discreetly placed in the back of the instrument, and pressing the third control (TA Switch) activates the TransAcoustic mode.
The guitar also offers a standard external PA option (SYSTEM70 TransAcoustic electronics with piezo pickup), with the TA Switch acting as an output volume control. A handy slide-out battery box is located next to the output jack (battery not included).
