The Universal Audio 6176 is a single-channel microphone/instrument preamplifier, equalizer, and compressor of superior quality in a single chassis. It combines two processors, the 610B pre-amp and 1176LN leveler, which can be used separately (independently) or as a single studio channel.

The Universal Audio 6176 combines the 610 tube preamp and the 1176LN transistor compressor/leveler, making the 6176 a totally unique channel strip. The preamp section offers mic, line and instrument hi-Z inputs, dual-band EQ, 15 dB pad and gain and level controls. The dynamic section retains all the classic features of the legendary 1176LN compressor.
Both of these units have separate inputs and outputs, so they can be used completely separately in mode, or in series, using the JOIN/SPLIT mode switch on the front of the 6176.
