The okoumé body of the AR420-TBG model is adorned with a spectacular top veneer of figured maple with a pattern supported by a Transparent Blue Gradation finish. Glued to the glued-in three-piece maple neck is a jatoba fingerboard fitted with twenty-two Medium-sized frets. Position blocks made of imitation mother-of-pearl and abalone facilitate orientation on the fingerboard surface.
Two passive Super 58 humbuckers with a milder output offer a warm vintage sound that is versatile in a variety of styles - classic rock and jazz. The guitar's highlights include the addition of two tri-sound mini pickup switches, allowing you to choose between series and parallel humbucker wiring or set up split-coil pickup configurations. The tri-sound switches complement the standard controls in the form of two volume potentiometers, two tone controls and a three-position pickup switch. The strings are housed in the company's Gibraltar Performer mechanicals and a Quik Change Classic headstock and tailpiece, whose design accentuates the overall vintage feel of the instrument.
Guitars with the Standard designation are Ibanez's entry-level line. These are affordable instruments that appeal to beginners and experienced players alike with their quality craftsmanship, sound and playability.
