Eventide MicroPitch Delay comes with the hidden ingredient of many famous recordings - a subtle tuning/pitch shift that can create a cool surround stereo sound. This makes guitar solos stand out much easier in the mix, and passages with clean guitar sounds gain a new volume/sound dimension. And it doesn't have to stay with guitars - MicroPitch Delay adds more brilliance to vocals, keyboards, drums, strings, wind instruments, etc.
It's a fairly complex delay/chorus/modulation effect with a wide range of sonic settings via the primary and secondary function controls, and five built-in presets with cool atmospheric/sci-fi sounds on the delay effect waves enriched with reverb and modulation. Software updates can be uploaded via USB from the Eventide Device Manager (EDM) app, where you can browse and select from a much larger sound database of presets. Use the Mini USB interface or a MIDI to TRS patch cable or MIDI converter to connect the MicroPitch Delay to MIDI devices (127 presets can be worked with via MIDI). The pedal's Active Footswitch operates in Latch or Momentary modes, the second switch offers a tap tempo function. A useful feature is certainly the input for an external expression pedal, to which any combination of parameters can be assigned and the character of the sound can be changed in real time by changing the position of the pedal.
