Ekkeko was the god of luck, abundance and wealth in the ancient Tiwanakan culture. Ancient civilizations made puppets to represent him, and then placed their desires in those puppets. The superstition was that it would bring them what they wanted to achieve. This god is a central figure in the annual Alasitas festivals, still held in Peru and Bolivia today.
