The alder body of the guitars is decorated with a glossy metallic finish. The neck and fingerboard are made of heat-treated, or "baked", maple. The fingerboard surface is divided by twenty-two Jumbo-size stainless steel frets, and orientation is made easier by a distinctive mother-of-pearl inlay on the twelfth fret and side luminescent "glow-in-the-dark" dots that give you perfect visibility even in backlit or completely dark environments. Playing comfort is guaranteed by the rounded edges of the fingerboard, the contoured upper and lower body cutouts at the neck and the practical tummy/belly cut.
Two single-coil "Hot Tele" pickups from renowned Seymour Duncan with Alnico V magnets and a slightly higher output signal give the guitar a fuller sound than standard single-coils, while not losing the characteristic "twang" of T models. Waxing the pickups reduces their susceptibility to creating a feedback effect. The sound can be adjusted using the volume potentiometer, tone shutter and three-position pickup switch. Precise tuning and quick string changes are guaranteed by the Hipshot Grip-Lock Open locking mechanism with an 18:1 gear ratio. The strings, on the other hand, are held in the solid fingerboard and through the body of the instrument.
Chapman Pro Series electric guitars are made in South Korea.
