Flutes with the Z2 designation are characterized by a more angular lip shape. The body of the instrument is made of silver-plated pakfong, the headstock and the handmade Altus mouthpiece are made of sterling silver. The flute also features a silver-plated pakfong mechanism with pointed flap arms, open flaps, split E mechanism, H foot, and an extended G system, which is considered simpler than the traditional straight row arrangement of flaps.
The instrument is supplied in a case along with a wiper and cloth.
