TAMA Starclassic Walnut/Birch Gloss Charcoal Tamo Ash Shell Set

Tama's Starclassic series has been on the market since 1994. Since then, it has been constantly evolving, providing even the most demanding drummers with professional performance at a reasonable price. The Starclassic Walnut/Birch series is a combination of walnut and birch in an ideal ratio, with the warm response in the mids and basses perfectly balancing the clear attack and projection of the sound in the higher frequencies of the birch. The percussion thus sounds familiar, yet distinctly different compared to the Tama percussion sounds of the past.

The toms and floor toms are made from two inner layers of American black walnut with four layers of birch (6 mm), while the bass drum is made from two layers of American black walnut and five layers of birch (8 mm). The sound is not only penetrating, but also beautifully warm.

Not only the tuning, but also the hoops used contribute to the sound. That is why the designers at Tama have paid particular attention to this element. On this set, you'll find hoops made of die-cast zinc, which are denser and provide a more regular shape than traditional, bent hoops. Tuning is more precise and consistent as a result, and sonically the drums will provide a stronger sound of rim hits, a more piercing attack or clean and strongly resonant highs.

The package also includes two tom mounts with an omni-ball system for easy adjustment at the desired angle, Star-Cast series hardware, which is renowned for its stability and great resonance, plus it allows you to position the toms closer together, a Quick-Lock clamping system for quick and easy attachment of Star-Cast Mounting System hardware or floor tom legs to the bracket, rubberized legs with an air chamber to eliminate vibration transfer to the floor/pad, and Evans membranes.
