SUHR PT-15 I.R.

The PT-15 I.R. is Suhr's hybrid guitar amplifier that combines the strengths of the analog world and digital technology. Its body combines a classic tube circuit with a built-in reactive load box and IRs technology. In the case of the PT-15 I.R., the presence of a guitar speaker becomes an option, not an obligation.

It is a tube three-channel amplifier driven by two 6V6GT end tubes (5x 12AX7s in the preamp), offering a wide range of tones with both British and American character. The first channel has separate drivers, the second and third channels share a three-band EQ, and the other drivers are separate. The overall character of the sound is determined by the settings of the Master Volume and Master Presence controls of the poweramp section. The PT-15 I.R offers 16 recorded Suhr cabinet IRs housed in four banks, however you can easily record your own IRs via the USB interface. So you can assign different IRs to each channel to match the sound exactly to your liking.

You'll appreciate the amp's practicality not only at gigs and studio work, but also in an apartment setting, when the last thing you really want is a disgruntled neighbour at the door. With a headphone output with adjustable IR level and an Aux-In input for external audio sources, you can practice undisturbed even late into the night. The rear panel offers an effects loop, an input for the included footswitch, a line output with bypass IRs for direct recording to a DAW, and two outputs to external speakers (the first allows parallel load box functionality with the cabinet, the second is purely to the cabinet, i.e. the load box is off). With no cabinet connected, set the impedance to 8 ohms, for the output with the red ring, i.e. with the load box off, set the impedance according to the cabinet (4, 8, 16 ohms), in case of parallel connection, the internal load should be included in the calculation.
