STRYMON NightSky

Some people are happy with compact reverb pedals with several controls and predefined sound options, but then there are musicians who want more from their reverb effect... much more. And it's for them that the Strymon brand has come up with a dream sound factory called Nightsky.

It's a stereo reverb with an 8-step sequencer and almost limitless effect modulation options, where you can tweak the character of the effect with different sound modulation curves, a two-octave harmonic generator, synth filters or even throw an overdrive into the mix. In real time, you can simultaneously change the character of the reverb effect and its reverb at two-octave intervals, and tell stories of an infinite universe using an 8-step sequencer. The world of ambient sounds is all at your disposal - only Nightsky is the limit.

Working with the setup takes place in these five sections:

In the MIX section, you set the output level of the dry signal and the processed signal independently.

In the DECAY section, you can choose from three different reverb effect types/textures (Sparse, Dense, Diffuse), and use the knobs to adjust the reverb length (from short echoes to infinite sustain) and virtual reverb space/volume.

The TONE section allows you to adjust the character of the sound (Low Cut, High Cut) without affecting the Dry signal.

The MOD section controls determine the speed and intensity of the effect modulation. The Target and Shape buttons select the process to which the modulation will be applied (Verb, Pitch, FIlter) and one of the six modulation sound curves.

The VOICE section lets you create impressive sub-bass reverbs at various intervals over a two-octave area, as well as invite a virtual string section to collaborate. The proverbial "final touch", or if you want a touch of sonic spice, are the Shimmer, Glimmer and Drive functions/effects.

Nightsky gives you instant access to 16 presets directly from the effect's main panel (300 via MIDI). With MIDI compatibility (via 5-din MIDI In/Out or USB), Nightsky will become one of the focal points of your MIDI pedalboard. You can also connect an external expression pedal to the effect, assigning the controls/parameters to the heel/toe positions as you see fit, and seamlessly transition between impressive ambient sounds (Strymon Multiswitch Plus option).

Thanks to the Nightsky's mono/stereo pedal inputs and outputs, you can seamlessly integrate it into any rig. Use the Line/Instrument switch to adjust the input level to guitars, or effects loops of an instrument, synths or mixes. Like other Strymon products, Nightsky uses a 32-bit SHARC processor and 24-bit 96kHZ A/D DACs. All electronics are housed in a durable aluminum chassis. True bypass wiring can be changed to buffered bypass. Power is supplied by the included adapter.
