The NS Pulse series is a modern take on the original NS model that remains as relevant as it is popular nearly forty years later. The extremely comfortable body is made of ash and impresses at first glance with its modern, sandblasted finish. The comfortable bolt-on neck is glued together from three layers of maple, while the Macassar ebony fingerboard is fitted with 24 frets and a graphite fretboard. The closed tuning machines on the typically shaped headstock decorated with the Spector logo and the massive locking cobbler with 17.8 mm string spacing are finished in black.
Sound pickups are provided by a pair of P and J pickups from EMG, giving the instrument a very wide sound palette. They are controlled by separate volume potentiometers and an active TonePump Jr circuit allowing for bass and treble boost. The electronics come from the workshop of Czech manufacturer Petr Michalík (Michalík Design), who also handles some of Spector's higher end models.
The Pulse bass line is built in South Korea, where the manufacturer maintains the high standards of the Spector brand. With precision workmanship, tone, playability and appearance, these basses are on par with instruments from higher price ranges.
