The Powerstage 170 is a compact, pedalboard-mounted guitar amp designed for players using profiling/modeling preamps, pedalboards overflowing with boxes and effects processors. It is a great solution for gigging guitarists who don't want to lug around heavy and bulky instrumentation on long crossings, but also don't want to put up with the completely random quality of the local backline.
This transistor compact power amp offers more than enough power at 170 watts into a 4 ohm load. You can faithfully reproduce the sound of your chosen apparatus to the finest detail in full power and clarity. The three-band equalizer of the preamp section makes it easy to fine-tune the ideal sound without having to tediously and inefficiently change the settings of the modeling preamp, boxes or effects processor. A sufficiently large Level (Master Volume) potentiometer allows you to control the output volume with your feet and easily determine the dynamics of the guitar sound (e.g. for highlighting solos). In addition, if you bypass your distortion/overdrive boxes in your pedalboard, the Powerstage 170 will serve you perfectly as a Clean channel with a great clean sound.
