This 12-string electroacoustic guitar is designed for players who prefer instruments with a smaller body shape and big sound. Its soundboard is made of pressure-tested solid spruce, adorned with an impressive sunburst gloss finish. The back and sides are made from three layers of ply-sawn solid cherry, giving the instrument a tonal character that straddles the line between the warm sound of mahogany and the clarity of maple. A maple neck with two-way bracing is joined by a rosewood fingerboard fitted with twenty-one frets. Orientation is traditionally facilitated by position dots. The lower cutaway offers good matching even at higher fretboard positions.
The guitar is sounded by a Godin G1T preamp with volume control, two-band equalizer and built-in tuner. Tuning stability is guaranteed by the enclosed chrome-plated mechanics with design elements in the form of silhouettes of racks. The stylish design of the instrument is accentuated by the decorative rosette, bright trim and logo on the headstock.
The history of the Canadian company Seagul dates back to 1982 and its philosophy is clear - to produce instruments using concepts known from custom guitar manufacturing so that even hard-working musicians can afford them. As a result, Seagul instruments are characterised by the use of solid woods and elaborate finishes, for example, so that they impress in both sound and appearance.
